4 min read•Updated February 2026
Summary & Purpose
Step-by-step requirements and timeline for porting Australian local (02, 03, 07, 08) or 1300/1800 business phone numbers into GoHighLevel for automated call recording and tracking.
What Numbers Can Be Ported?
Australian local geographic numbers (Sydney 02, Melbourne 03, Brisbane 07, Perth 08, Adelaide 08).
Australian Mobile numbers (04xx xxx xxx).
Australian Inbound numbers (1300, 1800).
Execution Steps
1. Download your most recent telecommunications bill (Telstra, Optus, Aussie Broadband, etc.) issued within the last 30 days.
2. Ensure the legal entity name, ABN, and service address on the invoice match your GoHighLevel regulatory profile exactly.
3. Submit the Port Request form in GHL Settings -> Phone Numbers -> Port & Host.
4. Standard porting approval takes 5 to 10 business days for mobile and 10 to 20 business days for complex landlines.
Important Pre-Porting Checklist
DO NOT cancel your existing phone service with your current provider until the port is 100% complete. Cancelling early will forfeit the phone number.
Remove any account-level suspension or contract lock with your existing carrier.
